How to Select the Cooling Capacity Based on Kitchen Area?
The cooling capacity of commercial kitchen air conditioning units is closely related to the kitchen area. Generally, the following guidelines can be used for selection:
For small commercial kitchens (10 - 15 m²), a unit with a cooling capacity of 2,500 - 3,500 watts is recommended.
For medium-sized kitchens (15 - 25 m²), a capacity of 3,500 - 5,000 watts is more appropriate.
For larger kitchens (25 - 40 m²), a cooling capacity of 5,000 - 7,000 watts is ideal.
Note: This is only a preliminary reference. In practice, factors such as the number of heat-generating appliances, staff density, ventilation, and local climate conditions must also be considered.
For example, if the kitchen has many high-heat appliances (e.g., stoves, ovens), high staff density, or poor ventilation, the cooling capacity should be increased accordingly. In hotter regions, a slightly higher capacity unit is also advisable to ensure sufficient cooling and a comfortable working environment.
